Tuesday matches to watch in district tournament today
BY BRANT PARSONS — Boys district week starts to heat up today with four district tournaments taking place.
We’ve gone through and picked out two matches in each district we’d like to see happen.
That doesn’t mean that they will. We can’t always predict weight changes, injuries and illness, and sometimes the bracket has other plans.
But we think that these would be a treat if they go down.
3A-13: at Fort Lauderdale, 5 p.m.
165: Alex Haley Jr. (Coral Springs) vs. Keegan Lake (Douglas)
These two met at the BCAA with Haley earning a 3-2 victory.
106: #7 Tyler Metellus (Monarch) vs. #15 Bryce Siddens (Douglas)
Metellus beat Siddens 7-2 in the semifinals of the BCAA.
2A-13: at Bayside, 4:30 p.m.
126: #14 Gabriel MacVittie (Satellite) vs. #15 Angel Tollinchi (Heritage)
If they meet, we believe it will be their first meeting of the season.
190: #5 Gary Bradley (Bayside) vs. #15 Kameron Lamb (Rockledge)
When they met this season, Bradley won by a 12-6 score.
1A-2: at Liberty County, 3 p.m.
126: #5 Sterling Hollinsworth (Florida High) vs. #7 William Harvey (Wakulla)
They both have wins against each other this season with Hollinsworth winning by major decision and Harvery owning a 4-3 victory.
132: #3 Jay Brown (Liberty County) vs. #5 Jasper Croom (Florida High)
One of the ones we are looking for the whole week. When they wrestled this season Brown won 7-3.
