Week 8 Wrestlers of the Week

BOYS

TOW: Lake Gibson, South Dade, Somerset: These three teams earned the first state titles of the 23-24 season with stellar performances at the State Duals.

106: Eli Jolicoeur (Suwannee): Went 3-0 in Kissimmee for the Class 1A runners-up and topped the #4 wrestler by two points in their bout.

113: Jake Austin (Somerset): Part of the Class 1A State Duals champion team, avenged an earlier season loss to the #2 wrestler in the state and moved to #1 himself.

120: Roman Lermer (Tampa Jesuit): The defending state champion won a key bout against the #2 wrestler while going 3-0 on the weekend.

126: Chris Dinsdale (Lennard): The junior wretler earned the top spot at the Brisco.

132: Joshua Whitter (South Plantation): Followed up his win at the state duals tournament with a 5-0 showing at the Storm Front Duals.

138: Hunter Brown (Liberty County): Is up to 35 wins this season after a first place finish at George Mulligan.

144: Tyrell Robby (Miami Beach): The Hi-Tides junior improved to 26-0 on the season after going a perfect 5-0 at the Beach Duals.

150: Anderson Heap (Kissimmee Osceola): The senior leader helped the Kowboys reach the state duals championship final for the second-straight season.

157: Gianni Maldonado (Lake Gibson): With the state duals championship on the line, the top-ranked wrestler in Class 2A pinned the #2 to propel the Braves to glory.

165: Julian Gonzalez (North Fort Myers): Finished in first place at the Ricky Gullet Invitational.

175: Kevin Olivarria (South Dade): He wanted another shot at the top-ranked wrestler at the weight and got it in the Buccaneers' state title winning dual.

190: Aidyn Wolfe (Riverview): Stayed undefeated on the season with a first place finish at the John Joyce.

215: Mizael Morales (Bloomingdale): The senior improved to 24-3 on the season with a title-winning performance and the John Joyce Memorial at North Port.

285: Elijah Austin (Zephyrhills Christian): Was 2-0 at the state duals for the third-ranked Warriors.

GIRLS

TOW: South Dade: Earned the title belt after winning the Elite 8 Duals at Orlando Freedom.

100: Caitlynn Beausoleil (Lakewood Ranch): Earned the top spot in the Ricky Gullet Invitational.

105: Emiliy Doolittle (North Fort Myers): Catipulted into the rankings with a big win in the final at the Ricky Gullet.

110: Jazlyn Diaz (Riverdale): Finished first in a weight class that featured four Top 8 wrestlers at the Lady Indian.

115: Saniya Gordon (East River): Introduced herself to the rankings with a Top 20 win at the Lady Falcons Tournament.

120: Alexea Lawson (Choctawhatchee): The senior won her second straight tournament when she earned the gold medal at the George Mulligan.

125: Arianna Ruiz (Mater Lakes): Scored a Top 4 win at the Lady Wave to finish in first place.

130: Angelyn Glazier (Lake Region): The junior improved to 17-2 on the season with a title win at Jerry Briscoe.

135: Genesis Fuentes (Kissimmee Gateway): Finished atop the podium at the War Eagle Classic on Saturday.

140: Ericka Hernandez (Kissimmee Osceola): Now has four ranked wins on the seasno after winning the Lady Indian IBT.

145: Kendall Bibla (Matanzas): The defending state champion went 4-0 at the Elite 8 Duals.

155: Alayjah Campbell (Robinson): Entered the rankings after a first place finish at Jerry Briscoe improved her record to 20-2 on the season.

170: Payton Moyer (Monarch): Cleaned up at the Lady Indian IBT with a title winning performance with a top 10 upset in the final.

190: Day'Jah Clark (Miami Norland): Earned first win against #6 wrestler who was 2-0 against her this season.

235: Brianice Silguero (Immokalee): Bumped up to the weight class and finished in first place at the Lady Indian IBT.
