Week 7 Wrestlers of the Week

BOYS

106: Nathan Lyttle (Harmony): Won his fourth consecutive tournament with some upset wins and helped lead the Longhorns back to the state duals tournament for the first time since 2019.

113: Topher Pearson (Suwannee): Was undefeated at the Billy Saylor Duals and helped lead the Bulldogs to the region finals in the state duals series.

120: Jordan Mukaddam (Fleming Island): He went 9-0 this season, help leading the Eagles to the region duals final and a Billy Saylor Duals title.

126: Raymond Cavey (West Orange): Toppled two Top 12 wrestlers on his way to a first-place finish at Cousins-Milton-Winter.

132: Kevin Salas (Fort Myers): The senior had a perfect weekend at Billy Saylor.

138: Mikel Pierce-Walker (Jensen Beach): Followed a 2-0 night in the region duals with an unbeaten weekend at Cypress Bay.

144: Aaron Robinson (Wakulla): The sophomore improved to 28-4 on the season with a title at the Gator Brawl.

150: Aiden Hutchins (Zephryhills Christian): An 8-0 week helped lead the Warriors back to Kissimmee.

157: Gavin Balmeceda (South Dade): After losing twice to the top-ranked Class 3A wrestler, he earned a 6-4 win and some retribution.

165: Kendrick Hodge (Somerset): The Panthers needed a pin from him in their final bout against Mater Lakes and got it to advance to the state tournament 30-29.

175: Nolan McKelvy (Fernandina Beach): Was 8-0 at the Billy Saylor duals including an ultimate tie-breaker win over the 2nd-ranked wrestler in Class 2A.

190: Timothy Peoples (George Jenkins): He won the title at St. Cloud this past weekend.

215: Jerome Baker (Lincoln): Went into the weekend unranked and knocked off the #2 and #15 wrestlers in this weight class while going 5-0 at the Trojan Invitational.

285: Makendy Jean (Golden Gate): Won the Jerry Mita Invitational with a win in the final against another Top 10 wrestler.

GIRLS

100: Hananeel Gregoire (Apopka): Won two tournaments this weekend - Girls Knight Out and Lady Bear Classic.

105: Virchelle Young (Evans): Finished in first place at Girls Knight Out.

110: Zoey McDonald (Palmetto Ridge): Triumphed in a deeper weight class at the Queen of the Island.

115: Lily Powell (Gulf Breeze): Stayed strong with a podium-topping weekend at the Panhandle Championships.

120: Leslie Hofmann (Ponte Vedra): Scored an upset win on the way to a Lady Bear title.

125: Jayla Benjamin (Vero Beach): Earned the top spot at Ocoee's Knight Out.

130: Rachel Silva (Florida Christian): Finished first at the Rusted Jade in a weight clas that featured five wrestlers in the Top 8.

135: Melanie Lamb (North Fort Myers): Competed will at Venice and took him the title at 135 pounds.

140: Delaney Graves (Oviedo): Had a first place finish at the O-Town Showdown.

145: Emily Jaspe (Mater Academy): The third-ranked wrestler at the state earned another title with a win at Queen of the Island.

155: Chloe Shull (Timber Creek): Battled in a tough weight class at Cypress Creek and finished first.

170: Salexa Lontoc-Ortiz (Orlando Freedom): The senior continued her strong season with a win at the Lady Bear.

190: Jade Noble (Horizon): Had a first place finish at the Ranch.

235: Mia Jones (Mulberry): Tallied an upset win in the final at Ocoee to finish atop the podium.
