KISSIMMEE — Somerset’s young wrestlers know what’s at state at the FHSAA State Duals Tournament.

It’s about winning as a team.

“Duals is about doing your job and it’s not about individuals,” Somerset head coach Joe Blasucci said. “It’s about the team and doing anything needed for the team and they’ve bought into it.”

The Panthers moved one step closer to a second duals state title with a 50-16 victory over Jensen Beach in the 1A-4 region final.

Somerset scored wins in 10 of the 14 bouts.

Abdur Bey (285), Carlos Sainz (106), Jake Austin (113), Darion Shannon (132), Jovani Solis (138), Eric Hodge (144), Luis Bellon (157), Kendrick Hodge (165), Noah Perez (175), Adrian Tejada (215) all picked up wins for the Panthers.

Jensen Beach earned wins from Gian Ortiz (120), Ben Norris (126), Bradyn Peters (150), and Toby Rooney (190).

“Our team is super young but they’re ready and they’re focused,” Blasucci said.
