Zephyrhills Christian’s Talon Maple voted Reader’s Choice Wrestler of the Week for Week 3
BY BRANT PARSONS — Talon Maple’s strong start continued with a second tournament win at the Corey Hill Memorial in Week 3.
The 17-0 beginning to the year has been a solid follow-up to a third place finish last season. It also caught the attention of the Kabra Wrestling readership with Maple earing the vote for Readers Choice Wrestler of the Week.
“Talon is having a great season so far,” Zephyrhills Christian coach Tim Maple said.
Talon has been part of a rising Warriors program who last year reached the state duals final and could have a better team this year.
“He is trying to set the example to building a winning culture at ZCA,” Tim Maple said. “His intensive is something our team is starting to emulate.”

Other wrestlers who earned nominations were Jake Austin (Somerset), David de Armas (Doral Academy), Giovanny Duany (Lake Brantley), Carson Estrada (Harmony), Husam Mustafa (Lake Wales), and Jack Oliver (Lemon Bay).
