Potential severe weather affects Brevard tournaments; new date set for Hammer Duals

BY BRANT PARSONS — Ahead of weather that has been described as potential tropical weather on Saturday in Brevard County, BCPS canceled all Saturday activities and events.

This affects two wrestling tournaments with Heritage set to host the Hammer Duals while Space Coast had a girls and JV event, the Skylar White Tournament.

Heritage has already rescheduled the Hammer Duals date to next Saturday, December 23.

“I know we’ll lose a couple to the Knockout, so we’re looking for some replacements too,” Heritage coach Jeff Degginger said.

If you’re interested in competing at the Hammer Duals, you can reach Coach Degginger at degginger.jeffrey@brevardschools.org.

Along with shutting down events within Brevard County, athletes will also not be able to travel to events taking place outside of the county on Saturday.

The county is expected to get between 3-6 inches of rain on Saturday with chances for tornadoes and high winds.
