BY BRANT PARSONS — The Braves Invitational has found a new home and is moving up in the schedule for the 2024-25 season.

The tournament, one of the toughest in the state, will take place on January 3rd and 4th at the AdventHealth Field House in Winter Haven.

“The last two seasons we have had to limit the amount of teams due to not having enough space which made the tournament not as prestigious as it could be," Lake Gibson coach Daniel Walker said. "With this move we can have coaches bring their varsity, JV, and girls teams all to the same location."

There are also plans to add a youth event as mat space won’t be a problem.

According to its website, the AdventHealth Fieldhouse was opened in 2020 and boasts 58,400 square feet of multi-use gymnasium space and has hosted basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, and cheerleading events.

"Teaming up with the AdventHealth Fieldhouse is going to add another event to the state that can bring many more out of state teams to compete against the best Florida has,” Walker said.
