Nathan Lyttle is your Reader’s Choice Wrestler of the Week for Week 7
BY BRANT PARSONS — Harmony head coach Vic Lorenzano has been coaching for 41 seasons and touts sophomore Nathan Lyttle has already distinguished himself for how easy he is to coach.
Lyttle is also a hit in the Kabra Wrestling community as he was voted the Reader’s Choice Wrestler of the Week for Week 7 after his 2-0 performance in the region duals and winning the Cousin-Milton-Winter Memorial at St. Cloud.
“Nathan is highly-focused,” Lorenzano said of the 106-pounder. “He has been training hard in the practice room and getting additional private workouts with elite individuals - it is rare to have a sophomore as focused and driven as he is.”
Lyttle is focused this season on the state title in Class 3A and as the postseason approaches, he has positioned himself as one of the favorites to stand atop the podium when the dust clears next month.
“He demonstrates great maturity and is one of the more coachable guys I have ever had,” Lorenzano said. “We have a tradition of developing some absolute hammers in our room and he is the next one among a group of elites.”
The other worthy nominees for the honor were Jerome Baker (Lincoln), Gavin Balmeceda (South Dade), Kendrick Hodge (Somerset), Makendy Jean (Golden Gate), Jordan Mukaddam (Fleming Island), Topher Pearson (Suwannee).
