BY BRANT PARSONS — It was an early loss in the season that sparked Heritage’s Solomon Peterson.

Since losing in the district duals, Peterson has been on a tear and after his performance at the Cradle Cancer in Week 6, he was named Kabra Wrestling Reader’s Choice Wrestler of the Week.

“Solomon is having a great year,” Heritage head coach Jeff Degginger said. “He’s redoubled his efforts in the room and has been on a tear, taking out multiple highly-ranked opponents.”

Peterson, who has just the one loss this season, has also taking on his role as a veteran in the room, working with the younger lightweights on the team.

“He’s always teaching in the room and isn’t just a great co-captain, but he’s become another coach in the room,” Degginger said.

The other worthy nominees for the honor were Luis Acevedo (South Dade), Maximus Brady (Mariner), Enzo Gamba (Fernandina Beach), Tim Gray (Crystal River), Cavarius Liddie (Buchholz), Gianni Maldonado (Lake Gibson).
