Some wrestling dates for 2022-23 season confirmed

BY BRANT PARSONS — The official season start dates of the Florida high school wrestling season for 2022-23 have been confirmed by the FHSAA.

The first girls practice date is Monday, October 31 with the first boys practice date being Monday, November 7.

The regular season for girls can begin on Monday, November 21, with the boys again starting the season a week later on Monday, November 28.

The dates of the state duals series have also been confirmed.

The district duals tournament cutoff date is Saturday, January 7, 2023 with the region duals taking place on Thursday, January 12, 2023.

The state duals tournament will take place again at Kissimmee Osceola High School on Friday and Saturday, January 20-21, 2023.

The IBT state series dates will be finalized once the state IBT tournament agreement is completed.

BOYS WRESTLING

First allowable practice date (Week 19) – Nov. 7

Match schedule(s) due (Week 20) – Nov. 14

Preseason classic tournaments (Week 21-22) – Nov. 21-26

First regular season playing date & team roster due (Week 22) – Nov. 28

Dual State District Tournament (Week 27) – Jan. 7

Dual State Regional Tournament (Week 28) – Jan. 12

Dual State Championships (Week 29) – Jan. 20-21

 

GIRLS WRESTLING

First allowable practice date (Week 18) – Oct. 31

Match schedule(s) due (Week 19) – Nov. 7

Preseason classic tournaments (Week 20) – Nov. 14-19

First regular season playing date & team roster due (Week 21) – Nov. 21
